From Head of Police of Nedoonganad Talook
to the
Head Assistant Magistrate of Malabar.
On the 4th. August last, I addressed to your Honor an Urzee
No. 225, informing you of my having received a report that one
Pooventalay Choyee residing in Vadakey Ottoopara in the
Kaipooram Desham of the Nadoovatam Aasham in the Talook
under my charge, had died from the effects of an assault com-
mitted upon him by one Tekay Ottoopara Velloo and certain
other persons, while he was watching modan crops, and also
of my having immediately deputed Vishwa Nadiah my sub-
officer to institute enquiries into the matter.
On reaching the spot, the sub-officer disinterred the body
of the deceased, drew up an inquest paper, and examined
Mooni the wife of the deceased, her son Velloo, the Mookhi-
yastars, the Native Doctor, and all such other persons as he
deemed necessary to examine in the case. He then forwarded
the proceedings with his report, which I received on the 21st.
