൫ാം കഥ.
ഒരു ദിവസം രണ്ട കുട്ടികൾ കൂടെ ഒരു തൊട്ടത്തിലെക്ക പൊ
യി. അവരിൽ ഒരുവൻ അവിടെ ഒരു മരത്തിന്മെൽ നല്ല പ
ഴം കണ്ടു. അപ്പൊൾ അത പറിക്കെണമെന്ന അവന്ന ആശ
തൊന്നി. അന്നെരം മറ്റവൻ തൊട്ടക്കാരൻ അടിക്കും പഠിക്കെ
ണ്ട എന്ന പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാറെ അവൻ ഇവന്റെ വാക്ക കെ
ൾക്കാതെ മരത്തിന്മെൽ കയറി ആ പഴം പറിച്ച കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
അപ്പൊൾ തൊട്ടക്കാരൻ വന്ന ൟ പഴം എങ്ങിനെ പറിച്ചു
എന്ന അവനൊട ചൊദിച്ചു. ആ ചെക്കൻ താൻ ആ പഴം
പറിച്ചില്ലാ എന്നും തനിക്ക ബുദ്ധി പറഞ്ഞു കൊടുത്ത ആ ചെ
ക്കനെ കാണിച്ച ൟ കൂട്ടൻ പറിച്ച ഇനിക്ക തന്നു എന്നും പ
റഞ്ഞു. അതിന്റെ ശെഷം ആ തൊട്ടക്കാരൻ ആ രണ്ടാം പൈ
തലിനെ പിടിച്ച നന്നായി ശിക്ഷ കഴിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ട നാം
ദുൎമ്മാൎഗ്ഗികളുമായി സഹവാസം ചെയ്യരുത.
5th. STORY.
One day two boys went to a garden together, in which one
of them espied some fine fruit on a tree; he immediately be-
came desirous of plucking it, but the other advised him not,
lest the gardener should flog him; he paid no attention, how-
ever, to this advice, but mounted the tree and brought down
the fruit. At that instant the gardener arrived, and asked him
how he came to gather the fruit; he replied, he had not gathered
it, but that his companion (pointing at the boy who had given
the advice) had done so and given it to him. Whereupon the
gardener caught hold of the other lad and punished him well.
Therefore we should never associate with the bad.
