പ്പെടുത്തി ആ മാമ്പഴവും തിന്നുകൊള്ളാമെന്ന നിശ്ചയിച്ച ഉറ
ക്കെ കരഞ്ഞു അപ്പൊൾ അതിന്റെ വായിലിരുന്ന മാമ്പഴം
കിണറ്റിൽ വീണുപൊയി അതിനാൽ ആ കുരങ്ങ ഏറ്റവും
വ്യസനിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ട നാം മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ മുതൽ ആഗ്ര
ഹിച്ചാൽ നമുക്ക ഉള്ളതകൂടി പൊയിപ്പൊകും.
10th. STORY.
While a monkey was sitting on the brink of a well eating a
mango, he looked in and saw his own shadow. Thinking it
was another monkey eating a mango inside and wishing to
frighten it that he might get that fruit also, he cried out loudly,
and let the fruit which he had in his mouth fall into the well;
whereupon the monkey was very much grieved. Thus, if we
covet the goods of another, we shall lose our own.
കുരങ്ങ a monkey, s. n. മാങ്ങ a mango, s. n. തിന്നുംകൊണ്ട
eating, present verbal part, of the intensive verb. തിന്നുകൊള്ളുന്നു to
eat, vide Grammar para l27. കിണറ്റിന്റെ of a well, gen. sing. of
കിണറ a well, വക്കത്ത at the edge, dat, sing of വക്ക a brim, edge,
s. n. കുനിഞ്ഞ having looked down, past verb. part. of കുനിയുന്നു to
stoop down, v. n. നിഴൽ shadow, s, n. എന്നാറെ afterwards. ഭയപ്പെ
ടുത്തി having frightened, past verb. part of ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു to frighten

രയുന്നു to call out. വീണുപൊയി fell down, 3d. p. sing. past tense of
വീണുപൊകുന്നു to fall down, v. n. വ്യസനിച്ചു was grieved, 3d. p.
sing. past tense of വ്യസനിക്കുന്നു to be grieved, v. n. മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ

വനം കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ഒരുനാൾ അവൻ ആലൊചിച്ച
