൧൨ാം കഥ.
ഒരു കാട്ടിൽ ഒരു പുലി ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു അത അവിടെയുള്ള
മൃഗങ്ങളെ ഗണ്യമാക്കാതെ എവിടെ വെച്ച കണ്ടാലും അവ
യെ പിടിച്ചുതിന്നുക ഉപദ്രവിക്ക ഇപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടു
വന്നു. ഒരു നാൾ ആ പുലി ഒരു മൂരിയെക്കണ്ട അതിനെ പി
ടിപ്പാൻ കുതിച്ചുചാടി അപ്പൊൾ ദൈവവശാൽ ലാക്ക തെറ്റി
അതിന്ന അപ്പുറത്ത ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന അഗാധമായ ഒരു കുഴിയി
ൽ വീണു. അന്നെരം മറ്റുള്ള മൃഗങ്ങൾ പുലി കുഴിയിൽ വീണ
തകണ്ട കൂട്ടംകൂടി ൟ സമയത്ത നാം ഇവനെ കൊല്ലാതെ പൊ
യാൽ അവൻ നമ്മെ പിന്നെയും ഉപദ്രപിക്കും. അതുകൊണ്ട
ഇവനെ കൊല്ലണം എന്ന ആലൊചിച്ച ആൾക്ക ഒരു കല്ലുവീ
തം എടുത്ത ആ പുലിയുടെ മെൽ ഇട്ടു അതിനാൽ ആക്കുഴി നി
കന്ന പുലി ചത്തു. അതുകൊണ്ട ഒരുവൻ എത്ര ബലവാനാ
യിരുന്നാലും താൻ ബഹു ജനത്തിന്റെ വിരൊധം വരുത്തി
ക്കൊള്ളരുത.
12th. STORY.
In a certain forest there was a tiger, who holding in contempt
the beasts thereof, devoured and oppressed them wherever he
could find them. One day he saw a bull and made a spring at
him, but by chance missing his aim, he fell into a deep pit that
was on the other side. Upon this the beasts, having seen the
tiger fall, collected together, and said, if we do not now kill
the tiger, he will again oppress us; we should therefore, destroy
him. Having consulted thus, each of them took a stone and
threw it upon the tiger; by this means the pit becoming full,
the tiger died. Thus, however strong a person maybe, he should
not draw upon himself the enmity of many persons.
