ഊറ്റമായി പറഞ്ഞു. മന്ത്രി കുമാരൻ ൟ വാക്ക കെട്ട അ
തിന്റെ താല്പൎയ്യം ഗ്രഹിച്ച പൂക്കൾ എല്ലാം തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു. പി
ന്നെ അവനെ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എടുത്ത കൊണ്ടുചെ
ന്നപ്പൊൾ രാജാവ അവനെ നൊക്കി നീ എന്തിന്ന പൂക്കൾ ക
ട്ടു എന്ന ചൊദിച്ചു. തിരുമെനീ ഞാൻ അങ്ങെ തൊട്ടം കാണെ
ണമെന്ന വെച്ച പൊയ്തല്ലാതെ പൂക്കൾ മൊഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടില്ല എ
ന്നെ അന്ന്യായമായി പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു എന്ന അവൻ
ഉണൎത്തിച്ചു. അന്നെരം അവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ എങ്ങും പൂക്കൾ
ഇല്ലായിരുന്നതിനാൽ അവന്റെ വാക്ക സത്യമെന്ന വെച്ച
രാജാവ തൊട്ടക്കാരെ ശിക്ഷിപ്പിച്ച അയക്കയും ചെയ്തു. അ
തുകൊണ്ട ബുദ്ധിമാൻ തനിക്ക വരുന്ന ആപത്തെ എന്തെങ്കി
ലും ഉപായം കൊണ്ട ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളും.
28th. STORY
In Oude lived a king, who had a flower garden, in which he
spent most of his leisure hours. this king had a minister,
whose son was in the habit of going daily to the garden and
stealing the flowers. The king missing a number of them, told
the gardeners to watch for the thief, and having apprehended
him, to bring him into his presence. They accordingly caught
the lad when in the act of gathering some flowers, and having
put him into a palanqueen, with the stolen property, they took
him to the king’s palace. Some one told the minister, who
was standing near the gate, that it was his son, who having
been detected in stealing the king’s flowers, they were carrying
before him, and that he ought to go and beg for his release.
The minister loudly answered, it is of no consequence, if he
has a mouth he will live. The son hearing and understanding
the meaning of this speech, immediately eat all the flowers.
When they brought him before the king, he asked him why he
had stolen his flowers. He replied O Sir, they have brought
me here unjustly, for I only went to see your garden, but did
not steal any thing. As there were no flowers found upon him,
