These reflective pronouns are often expressed by the help of the parti-
cle താനെ or for the second and third person singular; thus,
നീ താനെ തന്നെ ആ ചുമട എടുക്കെണം.
Carry that load yourself.
അവൻ താനെ തന്നെ തുങ്ങി ചത്തു.
He hung himself.
അവൻ താനെ തന്നെ അവൎക്ക ചൊറ വിളമ്പി.
He himself gave out the rice for them.
അവൻ താനെ തന്നെ കൊടാലി കൊണ്ട തന്റെ കാല
വെട്ടി മുറിച്ചു.
He himself wounded his own leg with an axe.

അവൻ ആരൊട അത വാങ്ങിച്ചു?
From whom did he obtain that?
2nd. എത is seldom declined; it stands alone or is prefixed to other
words; as,
എത പശു നല്ലത.
Which cow is best?
എത വലിയത ഇതൊ അതൊ?
Which is greater this, or that?
