ഞാൻ എറ നാളായിട്ട അവന്റെ വരവിനെ കാത്തിരി
ക്കുന്നു.
I have waited his coming for many days.
ഞാൻ അവിടെക്ക പൊകുവാൻ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
I have resolved to go thither.
അവന്റെ കാൎയ്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച പലപ്പൊഴും ഞാൻ കെട്ടി
ട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
I had often heard of his business.
അവൾക്ക ചെറുതായിട്ട ഒരു തൊട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
She had a small garden.
രാജാവ ഇവിടെ വരുമെന്ന മുമ്പിൽ കെട്ടിരുന്നു ഇപ്പൊൾ
ഒന്നും കെൾക്കുന്നില്ല താനും.
I had before heard that the king would come but now I hear nothing
(about it.)
If ആയിരിക്കും be added to the perfect tense, it denotes uncertainty; as,
അവൻ അപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടായിരിക്കും.
Perhaps he has done so.
FUTURE TENSE.
217. The Malayalim simple future tense, which corresponds to the
English future and future perfect tenses, is placed in sentences thus,
1st. ഞാൻ അവന്ന എഴുതിയതിന്റെ മറുപടി ഇവിടെ വരും.
The answer to what I wrote him will come here.
കൊയിത്ത കഴിഞ്ഞു ശെഷം ഞാൻ അവിടെ പൊകും.
I will go there after the reaping.
വൎഷം വൎരുന്നതിന്ന മുമ്പെ ഞാൻ ൟ പുര തീൎക്കും.
I shall have finished this house before the rain sets in.
പത്ത ദിവസത്തിന്ന മുമ്പെ ഞാൻ ആ മുതലയെ കൊ
ല്ലും.
Before ten days I shall have killed that Alligator.
