DEMONSTRATIVE PRONOUNS = ചൂണ്ടുപേരുകൾ.

Singular ഏകവചനം. Plural ബഹുവചനം.
This= ഈ, ഇവൻ etc. These ഈ, ഇവർ etc.
That ആ, അവൻ etc. Those ആ, അവർ etc.
Such ഇ—അ—പ്രകാരമുള്ള. Such ഇ—അ—പ്രകാരമുള്ളവർ
[etc.
The same അവൻ തന്നെ etc. The same അവർ തന്നെ etc.

ഉദാഹരണങ്ങൾ.

Some place their bliss in action, some in ease.
Those call it pleasure, and contentment these.

Tell that boy there, that Mr. Smith wants him. What
did you pay for those engravings? For this I paid one
rupee, and for that one rupee and a half. There are
several books of yours lying about, put them on the book—
shelves. These you may put on the top—shelf and those
on the bottom—shelf. Where did you buy that parasol
Madam? It seems to be excellent; I should like to have
one of the same kind. In that shop you will not be able
to get the very same kind, but you can get similar ones,
that are just as pretty. Look at that mango tree; have
you ever seen such an abundance of fruit on one tree?
That is a cocoanut tree, and those are jack—fruit trees.
Those who despise knowledge, do not know its value.
He who praises every thing, is nothing but a flatterer.
Those who love mankind, must detest war. We shall
always be mindful of those who assisted us in our distress.
We only read such books as are interesting. That is the
very same gentleman whom we met in Ootty. Such as
love gambling, are lost for the world.
