must not enter into particulars now; I will tell you all,
when I shall have the pleasure of seeing you.

So now dear Charles, do not forget that we shall fully
expect you tomorrow, nor omit to bring your bow and
arrows. Farewell then, says

Your affectionate

George.

2. From Charles to George.

January 26th 1870.

Dear George!

You may rely upon my being with you tomorrow, as
Mamma has given her permission; and with your leave, I
shall bring a schoolmate with me, who is a capital hand
at shooting, and one that will amuse you with a recitation
or two. He spouts a comic piece in such a style as will
greatly delight the party. His name is B., but you never
saw him. He is spending a few days with us, before he
leaves for Madras. I stay at home for another week.
So no more at present from

Your worthy cousin,

Charles.
