which is with me (i. e. which I have)].

with clearness (i. e. clearly); 'kiṇar̥r̥il' panni [= the pig in
the well (i. e. 'that fell into' etc.)].

10. (Apportionment.)'vastuvinkal' shaḷbhágam (=the sixth part
of his goods).

267. How is the substituted-form or inflective base used?

The substituted-form or inflective base occurs in most
of the senses of the locative, also in some of those of
the dative and genitive.

Ex: 'akattu' chennu (=he went in); 'víṭṭu' paṇi (= work in
house-building); nanné 'dúratt' akunnu (= he removed to a
great distance).

268. What nouns are used as supplementary to the case
affixes.

1. In the senses of the instrumental, 'múlam' (= root,
origin), 'káraṇam' (= cause), 'hétu' (= cause) etc. with
the nominative, and having 'áy' understood.

Ex.: sankaṭam 'múlam' [= in consequence of a grievance, lit.
a grievance (being) the origin]; atu 'káraņam' (=because of this,
from this, (lit. this (being) the cause)]; atu 'hétu' etc.

2. In the senses of the dative, 'nimittam' (=purpose,
reason) 'varé' (=line, limit) etc. with 'áy' expressed or
understood.
